Sewer, pool, Keith & Trish - Yr 1, Day 161

Myrtle Beach, SC

Not too exciting a day today.  Mitch mostly continued to work on the sewer problem.  He bought a bunch of plastic rain gutters and positioned it all in a way to create the angle he needed to drain properly.  It took him about 4 hours and he's still not happy with it, but hopefully it will work enough not to have to move.  We spoke to a few people here at the campground who also complained about having the same problem, so it's most likely caused by the sewer being above the ground instead of in the ground.

When all was said and done (around 4:00) we took our daily walk.  We went in the other direction to the indoor pool and hot tub.  Small, but long enough to do some laps, as long as it doesn't get too crowded (in other words, hoping no one else will be in the pool at the same time!).  We definitely have to plan to go, although we'll most likely drive over because, although it's a nice walk, it's too far to return when we're still wet and it's cold out.  Before returning to the CoW, we walked a little farther to the beach.  I braved walking on the sand and to the edge of the water and let the water run over my feet.  It was very icy but fun.  I watched the waves and reminisced about how I used to jump over and duck under the waves -- something I'm certain I will never be able to do again because of my hip and the fear of getting knocked over and dislocating it again.

We met another really lovely RVillage couple this evening - Keith and Trish (screen name "Geek Explorers").  They said they would come over after work -- I thought they commuted, but turns out they also work remotely in the high tech industry. Trish is a software developer and Keith works in internet security.  They have been full timing for 3 years and have visited all but 2 states.  And they travel with Samantha - an 8 year old German Shepard.

  1. Glad you've found an answer to your sewer problem. How nice to put your tootsies in the water! Hope it warms up there soon.
