The rig is ready - Yr 1, Day 214

Jacksonville, FL

Got the word early in the afternoon that they were just bringing our CoW to be washed and it's ready to go!!!   I was expecting at least another week or more, so this was great news.  Unfortunately, we couldn't pick it up today because we were going into Shabbat.  Even if it wasn't, there wouldn't have been enough time to pick it up and find a place to stay before it got dark.  Not to mention that I was also very busy working.  They are closed over the weekend and I have a client conference call (actually a training session) on Monday, smack in the middle of the day that I can't miss, so we have to wait until Tuesday.  We also want to bring the truck back to the mechanic (around the corner from the RV place) to look at the leak in the gas tank.  It's not as bad as it appeared last week, but there's still some fluid there so we need to have it looked at before we hit the road.

The timing still works out to continue our journey south then west.  The only thing that was off track was staying in St. Augustine for 2 weeks, but I'm glad we still had the chance to go anyway.  We also won't have time to stop at Cape Canaveral for 2 days (which is ok since we spent a lot of $ in St. Augustine and admission to the Kennedy Space Center will be $75 per person).  So the plan is to hit the road on Tuesday, stay in a parking lot overnight around the halfway point (which is about 200 miles) and arrive in Pompano Beach on Wednesday.  We will visit with my HS friend Lisa and stay in the area until the following week.  The place we reserved in Pompano Beach could only accommodate us until 2/2 and the place in Naples can't start until 2/4, but there is a farm (part of the Harvest Host program) in Boynton Beach (outside of Pompano) where we will stay overnight.  Then off to visit my sister Mindy, then cousin Sharon in Ft. Myers, then onto the rally in Arcadia by 2/8.

Hopefully it will be smooth sailing again for a little while.
