Last evening we were met with a surprise visit from Jess and Ellie (here she is tangling us up in her leash). So hard to say goodbye!
Thank God, our travels here were uneventful. It only took us 15 mins. to hitch up this morning and we hit the road at 7:45 (we arrived around 1:00). I drove about 110 miles, a little past the halfway point, and we stopped at a nice rest area on I40 to switch drivers and stretch our legs (Marion is the SE corner of NC, not too far from the border of SC and TN). The site is a large back in and it took Mitch about 20 mins to park. Not bad, considering.
The campground itself is nice and fortunately, pretty empty right now. There's a river running behind us, although we have to walk to see it and you can see mountains in the background. Not like the gorgeous ranges out West, but more than all the flat land we've seen since our journey began. The property is enormous - they have a sales department, a service dept (with 37 bays), a campground for campers and people waiting for service or with new purchases, and another separate campground for rallies (where we'll be at the end of May).
Tomorrow very early we take the rig over to the service area. From there we shall see what they can do this week and what will wait a month (at least they can get the warranty paperwork started and order the parts). Not quite sure where we'll be for the rest of the week, although I'm certain we'll stay here at least another day so we can figure it out.
