Mostly nothing- Yr 1, Day 251

Wish I could say I had some exciting stuff to blog about, but alas, not much has happened since Tuesday.  Mitch spent a lot of time at the RV dealer / repair shop (Horizons Coach) trying to figure out what part to order.  It comes down to a choice between replacing the broken part (which was discontinued and has to be custom made/ordered), replacing it with a similar but compatible unit (also MD'd and custom ordered), or buying a completely different brand that's in stock.  The first 2 choices will take 7 to make, 3 days to ship, and then making an appt for the tech to come out to install it.  The 3rd choice we can get within a day or 2.  The dilemma is that we don't want to settle for the fastest thing - we need to buy what's right and safe.  We're still researching it and asking a lot of our peers (and getting a lot of different opinions, unfortunately).  Either way, our hands are tied.  We can't order anything until a tech comes out to diagnose the problem, otherwise we risk not having this covered under the extended warranty if we do anything ourselves without prior approval.  The earliest the tech was able to come out is tomorrow.

So the highlight of the week was DawnRaye showing up for a surprise visit on Thursday into Friday.  She joined us for a roaring fire and a stir fry on Thursday night and for Shabbat dinner on Friday night (wonderful comparative religion conversation and great company).

Saturday we prayed at home (no shul around for about 50 miles), napped and took a walk around the field.  Today we ran out to Walmart to stock up on some groceries.  I have to admit that although I love the remoteness of this place (not in a wall to wall campground), I'm getting a little bored and itching to move someplace where there's more to do in the area.  There is a park (Peace River) not too far from here that has boating and hiking (perhaps swimming in the river).  It's supposed to be in the high 80s (Wed. near 90) this week, so maybe we'll venture out to the river one day (assuming we're still here, which I suspect we will be).
