Just an update on the truck.... apparently the problem is not all that unusual, especially if one hasn't changed the fuel filter for a long time (which we hadn't). We also didn't use the large front tank, which is probably what caused water to get into the tank to begin with.
It took a while to hunt down a diesel mechanic who had the time to work on our truck today, but we were successful and Mitch was able to return to work a little after noon. Work performed (which, if one has the skills to change one's own oil, this could also be done) was to drain the gas tank and change out the filters.
Unfortunately, they didn't drain it quite enough and the warning light came back on this afternoon. So back to the shop in the morning....
